Bathhouse for inmates of Oslo Prison
Spring 2018
Course: GK 2 Introduksjon til arkitektur
Plan 1:50
This project adds to one of the existing functions
in Åkebergveien: Oslo Prison. This public bath
will function as an extension of the prison where
next of kin and friends can visit the inmates.
The baths will also contribute to the making of a
new space where private conversation can take
place between inmate and visitor. It will also be
possible to arrange days where only the inmates
will have access to the baths which will give
them the chance to experience a variation from
life in the prison. The baths is a construction of
wood with a closed facade which shields for
transparency, while the beams in the ceiling
allow as much overhead light as possible to enter the building.
