Kongsberg Riverpark

Numedalslågen has played a prominent role in
the history of Kongsberg. It has given shape to
both the city and the surrounding area. The river
has been invaluable not only as a transport trail,
but also as a source of energy and a workplace.
Our project looks at the opportunity to create a
river park which will make the river area
accessible to the public. To highlight the river
and its history we established a continuous
pathway along the river. To connect the already
existing paths we used flood grates which adapt
to the water and the vegetation. The flood grates
will also stretch over the existing concrete
construction belonging to one of the power
stations along the river.
